He reads a lot of books and also plays the Piano. Before starting his internship at Springworks he worked at another startup where he worked on developing an app. Later on, after gaining experience and some confidence in his skillset he wanted to grow more. He wanted to work as an android developer and gain more practical experience. Springworks seemed to tick all the boxes and he loves working here.
A job opening on Unstop led to new beginnings
I started to look for internship opportunities in my 4th year. It’s a sad reality that most of the internships are still unpaid or they don’t take college students. Luckily, I came across a job opening on Unstop and it was for the role of an android intern. Adding on to my excitement it was paid and also it was remote work. That’s when I got to know about Springworks. It’s great to see a company working towards automating mundane HR tasks and focussing on rewards and recognition. The company’s website and the perks had me and I instantly applied.
To my surprise, I received a call within the next 24 years for an interview. Although the company is permanently remote, I found every step and process to be top-notch. Even companies that work from offices don’t have their processes structured. I had a brief call with the hiring team which was followed by an assignment and interview rounds. The interviewers were great, they not only helped me with things but also corrected me in places where I went wrong or I could improve. Everything was seamless and I was looking forward to my final offer letter.
After signing my offer letter I came across something called a buddy and manager meet. It’s a great idea and helped me lay out expectations and set goals for myself. I really appreciate everyone working towards async communication. It really helps save a lot of time and makes one more productive. Springworks has really nailed the HR landscape. Kudos to Kartik and the entire team for thinking of every minute detail and focussing on how to automate or quicken things.
I was excited from the day I received the call from the hiring team and I am still excited to work and learn new things.
What do I do?
My designation says android intern but I never felt like an intern but rather a full-time employee. From the very beginning, I got to work on testing applications and debugging. Adding on, I also code new features, implementing screens, pages and API. To date, I have been associated with three projects. I started off with Burst where I created the onboarding flow. Then, I moved to Plows and now I have moved to Toro. Toro has been challenging but interesting. I am still emotionally inclined towards Burst as it was my first project and I started my journey from there. There have been many challenges but at the end of the day, it just adds to my learnings.
Let’s talk about Springworks
I am often asked by my friends and family about how the company is and what it is like to work from home. Well, what is not to like at Springworks? I have a great team who always has my back and responds to every query and suggestion instantaneously. There are a lot of opportunities and things to own here. All you have to do is ping Kartik or my manager. The culture and flexible working hours are amazing.
I didn’t even join the company and I received a call from Rohan that I could join the company’s offsite. What a great start! I couldn’t join the Bengaluru offsite as I had my exams. But the team and Kartik were humble enough to make an exception and made me accompany the team to Goa. It was a lot of fun and I got to interact with a lot of people from cross-functional teams. The culture of the company stems from every individual who works here. We are diverse and inclusive. Even my parents feel a part of Springworks due to the souvenirs they receive on special occasions.

Remote work is not boring or monotonous here. Thanks to all the engagement activities, perks and benefits. It helps to foster a better work-life balance. There are numerous things planned by HR and they keep reframing policies to ease work. I am grateful for the flexible working hours as it helps to plan things better. Here’s a quick glance at my work schedule.
“ I am a morning person, so I get up early and hit the gym. I start my work around 10 AM and work till noon. After my standup call, I huddle with my manager and colleague to discuss a few things and I break for lunch. I resume work and log off by 7 PM” If it’s not for flexible working hours, I would definitely get burned out.

I also like the products we have at Springworks. There’s Trivia and EngageWith and recently based on ChatGPT we have come up with Albus, Snape, Hedwig and Accio. It’s great to see so many projects and developments. It’s impressive and I’m looking forward to upscaling and helping everyone here.
The perks and benefits are one of the few things that attract freshers. There is a Lifestyle spending account, workation, learning and development budget and work from home. You think of a perk and it already exists here.
Sneak- Peek into your life outside Springworks!
After work, what I do really depends on my mood and energy. There are days when I want to go out and days when I just want to lay on my bed. But I ensure I take time off my screen and refresh myself. I stay updated with the latest trends and work towards developing a few applications by integrating new features. Netflix and chill is the plan on weekends. If not, I head to Puri beach with my friends.
